Delayed from its original date on February 28th, Fiddle Stix
finally hosted the silent auction last Thursday, March 13th. A satisfactory
crowd showed up, from the start at 4:30 pm all the way to 7:30 pm. At
the auction's end every piece of art offered had found a new home.
One such lucky person to bring home an art piece was Lynn Hamway from United Way. In fact, she brought home two pieces. Since they are both untitled I can only describe them through the pictures that follow.
Another lucky lady was Kim Sidwell. After having established that she wasn't leaving without a "Deca" she debated between Duned and Eventide. Having a weakspot for black and white she decided to go with the award winning Eventide. By award winning I mean to say that Marcy Kaptur and BGSU both approve of it as can be seen in my earlier article here.
These were both 5x7 prints in 8x10 frames sold for $35.

This was the auction piece.
I would like to thank everyone who showed up to show apprecitation for the arts and to those who helped contribute to United Way. For anyone who bought something in the store, 15% of it went towards United Way. All proceeds from the auction were donated to support United Way programs also. So far people have been showing great interest in the events at Fiddle Stix and as one of the artists I want to ask that everyone comes back next time.
Also worth mentioning is that I appreciate the conversations of anyone I talked to, including Molly, Karen Lucas, and the lady who won my auction piece.
